SuSE Linux 9.1 Professional

Sunday, July 11th 2004

Well I haven't be posting lately because I've been busy changing Distros from Mandrake 10.0 Community to SuSE 9.1 Pro. You may remember a recent post about free SuSE 9.1 pro I wrote. Well I finally got it in the mail, and now have it installed.

The one thing I miss from Mandrake is the MCC (Mandrake Control Center). But YaST (Yet Another Setup Tool) is very good, and detected my sound card and TV card, which Mandrake didn't do. I would have to say though, I like SuSE a little better than Mandrake.

I downloaded SuSE Linux via their free net-install about 6 weeks ago, and being a Linux newbie, though it was a cinch to set up and get running. It's version 9.1. I couldn't be happier with it and am very glad that I made the decision to go with SuSE and to learn Linux. My website is running on it.

I first started using SuSE at version 8.2 and fell in love. But I had to try Mandrake 10 to see what it was like. But I agree that SuSE 9.1 is probably the best Distro for the desktop. At least Today it is. hahahah
